What to Expect

Weekends are a little different in our YTT at gruvnYOGA. Each weekend follows a similar structure to keep your mind, body, and spirit all leaning in and learning in a way that gives space for integration.  

 

Friday Night

Friday nights focus on the world of philosophy and ethics in yoga. These evenings let us ease into the weekend riding on the big ideas of the yamas and the niyamas, the 8 limbs, chakras, koshas, and more.   

 

Saturday

Saturdays are all about the shapes (asana) and leaning into the physical side of yoga. As we study the shapes in detail, we’ll have pose breakdowns, a deep dive on effective cueing, workshop sequencing, and learn the value of assisting.  

 

Sunday

Sundays are for exploring in depth the styles of yoga that are “vinyasa”, the styles that built the base for an aligned vinyasa practice, and those that support that practice. It’s where we’ll lean in on things like the not-so-subtle differences between a gentle flow and a slow flow, and where you’ll get to learn about how the ashtanga sequence sets the stage for the whole world of vinyasa.
