About the Event
Ashtanga translates to eight limbs in Sanskrit and refers to the eight steps outlined by Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras, a guide to reach meditative consciousness.
One of the eight limbs is an Ashtanga asana practice, a hatha style yoga that encompasses vinyasa (breath led movement), drishti (gaze points), and bandhas (physical energy locks) to allow for a deeper level of body and mind awareness.
In this workshop you will learn the fundamentals of the Ashtanga yoga primary series including Surya Namaskara A, standing poses, seated poses, backbends, and finishing poses while incorporating breathe, drishti, and bandhas to mindfully transition your body and settle the mind.
2 Day Workshop ~ 3 hours each day
First day must be attended for continuation of content on second day.
